DRUGSTORE GOODIES

I've been searching for the new Milani Matte lipsticks and blushes for a while and finally found them at my local Walgreens the other day. Milani is one of my favorite brands so I was excited to see some new  products from them, especially if they're matte.

First up are the Matte Lipsticks. There were 8 to choose from but I just grabbed three for now. These lipsticks are creamy and feel amazing on the lips compared to other matte formulas that I've tried in the past.

I also grabbed two of the new Matte Blushes as well. There were three in the display but i only purchased two. These have such great pigmentation to them and they blend like a dream. They are a tad on the powdery side but nothing that can't be fixed. I think these are one of the better formulas of blush at the drugstore and I hope they come out with more colors in the future.

REBEL BLOOM

 When I saw that the new Maybelline Spring 2015 Collection was released and people were finding them at Harmons I ran to mine right away and was lucky enough to find the whole collection. 

There is everything including a new foundation, powder, primer concealer, nail polish and color elixirs but I grabbed the lipsticks first. The ColorSensational Rebel Bloom collection is without a doubt the prettiest collection of drugstore lipsticks out there. There are 8 in this collection but i picked up 6. The two i didn't get were a pinky red and a darker violet but I will probably end up getting those eventually.  For $5.49 I have to have them all.

As you can see these colors are right on trend for the springtime.

SEPHORA RUN

Some people like to make ice cream runs when they're bored, I like to make Sephora runs. 

I've heard everyone and their mother raving about the Buxom Lip Foundations so I went over to the Buxom display and checked them out. The color nude appealed to me the most (I love me a pinky nude) so I placed it in my cart.

It is a beautiful pinky nude matte color that makes your lips look like you've just had injections (in a good way). I love to use this as a base and top it with different pink and nude glosses and switch it up with liners and such. You can pretty much turn this color  into anything you want.

This product lasts about five hours on the lips before a touch up or more gloss is needed. 

Next up on my list was to check out the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadows that were recently released for summer. All of the colors looked appealing but you know I love me some rose gold goodness so the one I picked up first was Rio De Rose Gold. These shadows are the weirdest texture but they make your lids literally look like they are dripping with rose gold. I LOVE it. I use a primer before I apply this product but I think it would last a decent amount of time If you used it by itself as well.

ULTA GOT ME AGAIN

Some retail therapy was needed in my life so where did I go to? That's right, Ulta. I really didn't have anything in particular that I wanted to check out but I figured that there might be some new summer releases so I went.

First I grabbed a staple for me. I love this Tree Hut body scrub for when I am self tanning and the coconut lime scent is perfect for summer so in my cart it went.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Pacifica brand so when I saw a coconut scent I smelled it and fell in love. There were also body lotions, shower gels, and fragrances in this scent but I wanted to start with a hand cream first .

To go along with the body scrub I also grabbed my all time favorite self tanner that I had recently ran out of. This tanner gives an amazing glow without streaking and it wears off evenly. Love it!

I had recently tried a sample of the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation and fell in love so I grabbed a full size to be my summer foundation. This is very light and breathable on the skin while still giving medium coverage so this will be perfect for me.

Last but none least as I was browsing around all the displays I came across the new Alter Ego lipstick line from Lorac. I was testing a few nudey colors on my hand when this color caught my eye. This bright pinky color is perfect for summer. It brightens up my face and gives me a beautiful glow. The formula can be a little drying if you apply full coverage so I just dab the color on to the lips and it still gives a pop while maintaining moisture.

So these were my picks for summer 2014. Some essentials that will be perfect for the hot months.

OH MARC, HOW I LOVE THEE

The Marc Jacobs beauty line has to be one of the most luxurious lines that I 've come across. I do have one of his eyeshadow palettes and it is absolutely stunning. While i was in Sephora a couple weeks ago I just browsed the display and this lip color immediately caught my eye. My favorite type of nude color is a light pinky nude so when I saw the Love Marc Lip gel in Strange Magic I immediately fell in love. This color is right up my alley, a pinky nude. The formulation of these lipsticks is exactly as it says, a gel. These colors glide on the lips easily and lasts a good bit.

I will be looking into more colors in this line. Any suggestions?
